Emmys: Red Carpet Top 5

The 2013 Primetime Emmys took place in Los Angeles Sunday September 22nd, honoring television’s best and brightest stars. Along with all that comes a parade of gorgeous red carpet looks, as well as some misses. This year’s show had many stand out styles, which made it particularly difficult to narrow down my favorites. Below are my final selections for my Emmys Top 5 fashion favorites:

1. Kaley Cuoco: Kaley wore Vera Wang and looked absolutely stunning! Her look for the Emmys combined contemporary styling and “Old Hollywood Glamour”.  I especially LOVED the lace and Bordeaux red color of the gown.

2. Sofia Vergara: Sofia arrived at the Emmys in another spectacular Vera Wang dress. She looked both classy and sexy, in this standout impeccably constructed red number.

4. Tina Fey: Funny lady Tina Fey wore an elegant Narciso Rodriguez dress. This true blue gown was super flattering on her, and may be one of her best looks yet!

5. Giuliana Rancic: One of the hosts of the E! Red Carpet coverage sparkled in this  Mikael D mermaid silhouette dress. The icy blue style with just the right amount of sequins looked perfectly chic.

Year In Review

After an extended hiatus Luminously Styled is back.

It has been a very busy year with moving, new work related opportunities, some travel, and many events!

One of the year’s overarching fashion trends has been the punk inspired looks, along with lots of 90’s nostalgia. From the recent “Punk Chaos to Couture” exhibit at the Met this past summer, designer fashion shows, and this season the trend is being represented in virtually every store.

Last April, I attended my alma mater LIM College’s Annual Fashion Show. This year’s theme “Rebelution”, a nod to the punk trend, was presented at Roseland Ballroom. The show seems to get bigger and more extravagant every year, and this year’s guest host was none other than legendary costume designer Patricia Field.
