In this installment of New York City Shopping Hot Spots, we’re heading uptown, to the Upper East Side to be more precise. Centered around one of the city’s historic landmark department stores is another one of my favorite shopping destinations.
Bloomingdale’s at 59th Street
While the city has many department stores, all unique in their own way and catering to their respective target markets, Bloomingdale’s gets my vote for the city’s best. What catches my attention about Bloomingadale’s is its mix of luxury and contemporary brands, not to mention a fabulous cosmetics floor! The surrounding area around 59th Street and Lexington Avenue, is also home to lots of famous retailers including Urban Outfitters, Diesel, Victoria’s Secret, Sephora, and Aldo, among others. Once your day of shopping is complete, there are plenty of near by cafes and restaurants to relax and unwind in.
